The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, attended the penultimate day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday, with eight-year-old Louis sharing a heartwarming moment with his great uncle Edward

Prince Louis attended his first major sporting event over the weekend, as he joined the Prince and Princess of Wales and his siblings on the penultimate day of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Prince William and Princess Kate, along with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, watched the netball and the track cycling on the penultimate day of the Games, much to the delight of royal fans. Sitting down to watch the track cycling, the Wales family took seats in a row behind the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, who were seated alongside British cycling great Sir Chris Hoy.

Prince Edward was positioned directly in front of George and Charlotte, and was captured sharing a jovial exchange with the two eldest Wales children. He was also spotted reaching across to hand something to Louis, with onlookers speculating it may have been a snack.
The interaction between Edward and Charlotte drew a lot of attention on social media, with royal fans commenting on the sweet relationship between the Waleses and the Edinburghs.
One person wrote: “It looks like George, Charlotte and Louis love spending time with Uncle Edward and Aunty Sophie, they have such a sweet relationship!” Another added: “These photos melt my heart! Love their tight knit family unit.”
One royal watcher wrote: “One of the things I love most about the Royal Family isn’t just the grand ceremonies or historic occasions—it’s these quiet family moments. Seeing Princess Charlotte listening so attentively to her Uncle, Prince Edward, made me smile.

The Commonwealth Games appearance on Saturday was the first time Louis has joined his older siblings for a major sporting event, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte previously attending the Wimbledon finals in recent years without their youngest brother.
It was also the first time the royal children have been seen publicly in Scotland, as their appearance was kept under wraps until they arrived in Glasgow.

The family of five were warmly welcomed inside the arena, as they looked forward to a tense match of Women’s Netball between the World’s No 1 team Australia and Birmingham 2022 silver medalists, Jamaica.
Later on Saturday, William and Catherine will spend time with Team Wales athletes and their families. The royal couple will also spend time with athletes competing at the games whose careers have been empowered by the charity SportsAid, which Catherine has supported as patron since 2013, and meet emerging talent taking part in the Team England Futures project.
The Commonwealth Games, affectionately known as “the friendly games”, started on July 23, following a spectacular Opening Ceremony that saw the King and Queen emerge from Doctor Who’s Tardis.
