Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are reportedly hoping that the birth of their fifth grandchild will ease tensions with the Royal Family, an insider has shared. The disgraced former couple lost their royal titles and Andrew, his royal honours, last year over their connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, with the royal now residing in Norfolk after his eviction from his former home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, earlier this year. Sarah’s current whereabouts are unknown, but she was also evicted from the 30-room home, which she shared with her ex-husband, earlier this year.

It was reported earlier this week that the former couple’s youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, had welcomed her third child into the world in Portugal.

The 36-year-old now splits her time between the UK and Portugal. Her husband, Jack Brooksbank, has work commitments which have seen the family spend half of their time in the sunshine.

The newborn baby girl is the couple’s first daughter. They are already proud parents to August, five, and three-year-old Ernest.

An insider has now told HeatWorld that the birth has left Andrew and Sarah hoping that they can heal the feud.

They said: “They’re absolutely thrilled for Eugenie and very excited to be getting another grandchild, but they’re also saying that nothing brings a family together quite like a newborn, so they’re seeing this as an opportunity to try and build a bridge with Charles and Camilla and the rest of their extended family…

“He and Sarah are definitely looking at this as a foot back in the door with the Firm.

“They know this baby isn’t going to erase everything that’s happened, but they can’t help but pin a lot of hope on this.

“They are determined to make the most of every opportunity this new arrival brings because, in their minds, it’s a rare chance to remind everyone they’re still part of the family.”

Eugenie and Jack’s new baby was born on August 3, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.
