HOLLYWOOD USUALLY PREMIERES HISTORY UNDER BRIGHT LIGHTS — NETFLIX TOOK THIS EPISODE BACK TO THE PEOPLE WHOSE HISTORY IT PORTRAYS Instead of celebrating one of Little House on the Prairie’s most historically sensitive episodes at a glamorous industry event, Netflix brought it to Pawhuska, Oklahoma — the heart of the Osage Nation. Osage citizens and tribal leaders gathered to watch Episode 7, which revisits a treaty that permanently affected their ancestors and their land. The evening opened with Osage singers and a traditional blessing, continued with a candid discussion about representation, and ended with the prayer song heard in the series being performed by the Osage Tribal Singers themselves. For the cast and creators, it was a screening. For many inside that room, however, it was living history returning home — with the community finally present to respond.
