MATT DAMON ENDED THE MOST PUNISHING SHOOT OF HIS CAREER LYING ON A RAFT AS CHRISTOPHER NOLAN POURED WATER DIRECTLY OVER HIS FACE After months of battling freezing seas, confined spaces and punishing locations across several countries, Matt Damon might have expected the final days of The Odyssey to offer some relief. Instead, the production moved into a studio water tank fitted with two jet engines powerful enough to blast the cast with waves — and the last close-up pushed the ordeal into almost surreal territory. Damon was required to lie helplessly on a raft while Christopher Nolan personally poured water across his face to capture the shot. By that point, the exhausted cast could only laugh at the absurdity of how the epic journey was ending.
