Medical Emergency Suspected in Tragic Death of Long Island Mother of Four Whose SUV Plunged into Pool
Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old math coordinator and mother of four, appears to have suffered a sudden medical episode moments before her SUV crashed into the swimming pool of her family’s Hewlett home on Friday, August 21, 2026.
According to Nassau County investigators, Rahmani lost control of the vehicle, sending it into the backyard pool. Although she was able to dial 911 from inside the submerged vehicle, emergency first responders could not revive her, and she was pronounced dead en route to the hospital. Detectives have found no evidence of foul play.
Remembered as a Devoted Educator and Community Pillar
Rahmani served as the math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR), where colleagues and parents regarded her as an exceptional educator. She had recently celebrated her 40th milestone birthday.
On Sunday, August 23, hundreds of family members and mourners gathered at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in Hewlett for her funeral service—the exact date she and her husband, Matthew Rahmani, had planned to depart for a vacation to Paris.
