Speaking to HELLO! Magazine, the Duke of Sussex reflected on the contrast between his own childhood boarding school memories and his children’s morning reluctance:

• Sunday Nights vs. Monday Mornings:

  

  “At breakfast this morning, they had a bit of Monday blues. It was always Sunday night blues when you’re being sent away to boarding school like I was, but for them, at breakfast this morning, I decided, you know what? You’re just being a little bit tricky, so I’m going to tell you exactly what I’m doing tonight.”

• Curiosity Over Complaint: Harry explained that detailing his evening engagement honoring children facing life-limiting illnesses completely shifted the mood at the table:

  “They were genuinely fascinated and asking all sorts of questions. So, like with all of my work and their mum’s work as well, whatever we can do to try to instil some of that awareness, I think is absolutely crucial.”

• Perspective as a Father: Meeting parents in the WellChild community, Harry added, quickly reframes daily domestic stress:

  “Day in, day out, coming off the back of kids being out [of school] for 11 weeks… you find yourself going, ‘Wow, in that room with those parents, you really can’t complain about anything.’ Of course, it’s all relative, but the inspiration that I get from these guys… fills me up for a whole year.”

Embracing British Staples: Marmite on Crumpets

• The Marmite Breakthrough: While Harry noted that an earlier attempt to introduce them to beans on toast while living in the US “didn’t go down very well at all,” Archie and Lili have unexpectedly embraced the quintessential British yeast spread:

  “Now the kids are eating Marmite on crumpets, which is big for me… They do [approve], they do very much. I mean, they used to diss me for having Marmite in the house, and now they’re in the UK it’s like that’s kind of like water under the bridge, so it’s good.”
