Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, is claimed to have shown his “true colours”. It’s said this was captured in a moment rarely seen on camera.

Prince Edward has got people talking as they think he exposed his “true self” while out and about in public. While Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, is perhaps less prominent in the public eye than King Charles III, Anne, Princess Royal and other members of the Royal Family, he’s still very much well loved, though he appears to enjoy a quieter life out of the public spotlight.
This is exactly why the 62-year-old is cherished by many, including one young boy who had the privilege of meeting him in an encounter that has warmed hearts across the world. Prince Edward was captured on camera in an adorable moment while meeting a fan, handling the encounter like a “true gentleman”, and people think it showed his “true colours”.
TikToker @lollystoun, who frequently posts videos featuring the Royals, uploaded a clip of a young, blind boy named Corey meeting Prince Edward – and he arrived fully prepared with a gift to demonstrate his admiration. Back in July, the Prince shocked fans with a surprise appearance too.
Prince Edward gently touched Corey to signal his presence before someone explained that Corey had created a card for him, to which he responded: “Oh, really?”
“That’s all he wanted to do, is give you a card,” they clarified, and Prince Edward appeared genuinely moved by the thoughtful gesture.

“That’s very kind, thank you very much indeed,” he said warmly, as he opened the card Corey had crafted for him. He also noted that they’d been “trying desperately to keep it out of the rain” to prevent any damage, clearly recognising the considerable effort that had gone into creating it.
“Very good, excellent, well, that’s very, very kind,” Prince Edward told Corey, admiring the card once more before the touching clip concluded.
In the comments section, people gushed over the exchange, with one applauding him by stating: “Prince Edward is an amazing gentleman”.
Others were deeply moved by the fact that, upon learning the boy was blind, he “touched his hand,” describing the moment as “lovely”.
“I think Edward and Sophie [Prince Edward’s wife] are the best royals. No drama, very down to earth,” a third commented.
A fourth remarked: “I’m not a royalist, but I think Edward and Sophie should be in charge”.
Back in June, Edward and Sophie travelled to Portugal alongside King Charles III on a significant tour celebrating the UK’s relationship with the country.
The couple spent three days in Lisbon and Porto undertaking numerous engagements, many highlighting causes particularly dear to them, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award for Edward and women’s rights for Sophie.
In recent years, they’ve gained a somewhat elevated public profile, particularly since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle withdrew from royal duties, enabling the Edinburghs to assume greater prominence.
Beyond their royal responsibilities, the pair seem to favour a life shielded from publicity, residing quietly, away from media attention at their Bagshot Park estate in Surrey.
