Netflix boasts an extensive library of mystery titles, ranging from twisty whodunits and psychological thrillers to acclaimed book adaptations. The collection is further bolstered by the streamer’s partnership with prolific author and producer Harlan Coben. The deal between the two parties, initially signed as a five-year pact in 2018 but extended in 2022, spans multiple streaming hits based on Coben’s bestselling novels. I Will Find You promises to be another must-binge release, as the latest trailer for the miniseries teases a highly addictive drama that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats from the first episode to the last.
Based on the 2023 novel of the same name, I Will Find You is the first of Coben’s hugely popular Netflix adaptations to be set and produced entirely within the United States. The story follows David Burroughs, a father wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of his son. Five years into his life sentence, his former sister-in-law visits him with evidence that suggests his son might still be alive. In a bid to uncover the truth and rescue his boy, David orchestrates a high-stakes prison break and attempts to evade law enforcement as he sets out to unravel the mystery with the help of his informant, who becomes a formidable ally on his quest for justice.
“I’m currently serving a life sentence for killing my little boy,” David – played by Avatar star Sam Worthington – says in the final trailer for I Will Find You (shared above). “The thing is: I didn’t do it.” What follows seems to corroborate his claim, as his ex-sister-in-law, investigative journalist Rachel – played by Severance’s Britt Lower – shows up with a photograph, pointing out that the boy in the background looks exactly like his son. Spurred on by the shocking revelation, David is shown making his daring escape from the maximum-security facility and stepping out as a wanted fugitive as he vows to find his son and “bring him home.”
Netflix’s adaptation of I Will Find You lifts the main characters from the pages of Coben’s book and drops them onto the screen. However, Worthington and Lower are joined by a star-studded lineup of veteran actors, including Milo Ventimiglia as Hayden, Rachel’s ex-boyfriend and a wealthy ally who helps protect the escapee; Erin Richards as Cheryl Dreason, David’s grieving ex-wife whose rebuilt life is upended by the jailbreak; Jonathan Tucker as Sgt. Adam Mackenzie, a police sergeant who risks everything to help his incarcerated best friend out; Logan Browning as Sarah Greer, a prominent member of the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force; Chi McBride as Max Williams, a fellow FBI agent who leads the manhunt for the escaped convict; and Clancy Brown as Nicky Fisher, an old-school mobster with a startling personal connection to the Burroughs family.
With so many different players on the board, I Will Find You is sure to keep viewers guessing until the very final moments about how it will all play out (unless you’ve read the book, of course). The gripping mystery thriller is set to premiere globally on Netflix on Jun. 18, 2026, and has been dubbed by the streamer as “an odyssey you won’t want to miss.” All eight episodes of the Coben adaptation will drop at once to allow subscribers to binge-watch the series, trace the clues, and unravel the deep, dark conspiracy at its center.
