I’M A Celebrity South Africa’s Beverley Callard has revealed she “lost consciousness” in camp as she shared an emotional update after her shock jungle exit.

The former Coronation Street star, 69, was forced to leave camp on medical grounds during Tuesday night’s episode.

After watching her exit, she took to Instagram to break her silence and offer an update to her loyal fans.

She began: “Well, I’ve just watched my exit on I’m A Celeb and it made me cry all over again because of course I didn’t know then that I had cancer.

“But I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I’d not felt very well.

“What happened was, I was called into the Bush Telegraph and apparently I lost consciousness for a little while.

“I just wasn’t feeling myself, they took me to a medical hut, they were amazing, they really looked after me and then they said, ‘you can’t go back’.

“I said, ‘don’t send me home, I’m sure I’ll be fine’, I jumped off a plane, I hung off a cliff and I did want to succeed,” she tearfully admitted.

“I wanted to make it through to the end. But that was the start of everything really, so it’s made me really emotional but I will beat this, I will beat it,” Beverley concluded.

She captioned the post: “That was such an emotional watch.. especially knowing what I know now.

“I wanted to prove that age is just a number and I feel so proud of what I achieved. Just got to get through this real life trial now.”

Her co-star Ashley Roberts commented: “You did prove that Bev. Sending love and so proud of you.”

Lizzie Cundy expressed: “Proud of you darling,” and Giovanna Fletcher said: “Gosh Bev. Love you!!!! Xxxx.”

Coleen Nolan penned: “So proud of you Bev,” while Jordan North wrote: “Sending all my love Beverley, proud of you.”

During the latest instalment, Beverley gathered her fellow campmates to share the sad news of her departure.

She said: “I’ve got something to tell you all.

“I didn’t feel very well this morning, I had a bit of a funny turn and they said I can’t come back in and I’ve got to go home.I don’t want to go.”

Scarlett Moffatt said: “Health is more important to you,” to which Bev replied: “I’m absolutely gutted, I wanted to finish.”

Fellow Corrie actor Craig Charles told her: “Bev you’ve been a right trooper.”

While Jimmy Bullard shared: “You’ve been a machine mate.”

A heartbroken Bev said: “I wanted to prove that older women could do it.”

Scarlett insisted that she had done what she came to do, saying: ” You jumped out a plane, you’ve done trials.”

Adam Thomas echoed: “Everyone is going to be so so proud of you.”

The series was pre-recorded in Kruger National Park last year, and four months after filming, Beverley was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

She has now had surgery to successfully remove the cancer.
