Britain’s Got Talent has received more than 100 Ofcom complaints from angry viewers who slammed what they described as a “horrific” performance, calling it the “worst they’ve ever seen”.

The most recent instalment of the ITV talent programme, broadcast last weekend (April 4), prompted such outrage amongst certain viewers that they lodged official complaints with the broadcasting watchdog.

Ofcom received 108 complaints following BGT contestant Leroy Patterson’s unconventional stage performance. Judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, KSI, and stand-in panellist Stacey Solomon looked on in astonishment as he began removing his clothing.

The 42 year old stripped off his t-shirt and jeans on stage, causing bewilderment amongst onlookers. Leroy announced he would be presenting and demonstrating his three most crucial safety tips – the first involving him suddenly throwing his exposed torso onto a bed of mousetraps.

Stacey immediately hit her red buzzer, though this failed to deter Leroy, who proceeded with his second demonstration – descending onto a strip of carpet tacks, reports Belfast Live.

For his subsequent ‘tip’, Leroy seated himself directly upon a chair blanketed with strips covered in hundreds of sharp, pointed nails.

Finally, Leroy activated a weed trimmer – a motorised gardening implement designed for rapid plant cutting – before charging straight through them, sustaining numerous lacerations across his body.

Ant appeared worried as he glanced towards the camera and questioned: “Is he still alive?”. The audience shrieked as Leroy injured himself and appeared clearly distressed, yet he managed to make his way to centre stage for a final bow.

Astonishingly, he earned applause and progressed to the following round after securing three approving votes from the judging panel.

Yet viewers watching from home were far from impressed and quickly took to social media to voice their opinions. One shocked viewer posted on X, formerly Twitter: “I bet OFCOM will hear about this.”

Another posted: “He’s bleeding what the hell he took this too far definitely not a talent.” A third declared: “That was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen on this show.

“What the hell was that? There was NO NEED”, another fan protested. “So we’ve just seen a man self-harm on #BritainsGotTalent and you are voting him in. This is all that’s wrong with the world right now,” one viewer raged.

One fan remarked: “That was a serious OFCOM complaint performance. Horrific!”
